Announcing your baby's gender is an exciting and memorable event and we love to capture these special moments. As the trend grows in popularity, the events themselves are getting bigger and better, now often involving large families on vacation. What better way to tell them all and capture the memories. As professional photographers it is up to us to let our clients know that some of the gender reveal props are not allowed on our beaches. As Walton and Okaloosa Counties want to keep our beaches, clean, safe and healthy for the ocean and the shorebirds, they have some very important rules about things you can use for gender reveals on the beach. Gender Reveals must follow guidelines set by our County Beach Compliance rules. Non compliance can result in fines.
Guests are not allowed to have the following on our beaches as we want to preserve nature:
- Sky Lanterns, Fireworks, Smoke Cannons, Colored Powder Canons, Smoke Bombs, or any explosive devices
- No battery operated candles or lanterns, no tiki torches or lights
- Helium balloons that may be released into the ocean, and large powder filled ones that you pop.
- Confetti or Confetti guns as the tissue paper litters the sand and water.
- Fake Rose Petals or Plastic items that will not decay naturally.
- Glass of any type...sorry this includes Champagne, Wine Bottles, & Wine Glasses (find plastic bottles & cups online.)
- Pets and Animals, must be a full time resident with a pet permit
You are WELCOME to bring props like T-shirts, baby flip flops, baby blocks, bubbles, banners, signs, stuffed animals, or best of all write it in the sand. Maybe have a professional sand castle built that reads "It's A Girl!"
